Aquatica: The amazing new Orlando Water Park

Aquatica (from the owners of Seaworld)

Orlando has Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and Wet n’ Wild, but now there is the NEW Aquatica where water rides meet water park - on Dolphin Plunge you can shoot down a closed slide straight through a pool with rare dolphins (they are black and white and look like baby orca) and enjoy them have a good look at you!

Aquatica is right across the road from SeaWorld on International Drive. For adults the official ticket price for Aquatica is currently $41.95, children’s tickets are $35.95. Alternatively you can save money by getting a ticket combining Aquatica with Seaworld entrance at a price of $94.95, child $84.95 - you can save a dollar off each ticket by going to this discount ticket seller - or go crazy and add Busch Gardens (definitely worth a trip to Tampa on the West coast as the queues in peak seasons for rides are tiny compared to those in central Florida). Aquatica has 36 water slides and six rivers and lagoons. The lazy river, Loggerhead Lane, you ride on a ring through waterfalls, an exotic bird habitat and a pool full of colourful fish. For the more adventurous, try out Roa’s Rapids where you can speed through white water.

On Taumata Racer, 8 people can race each other to the bottom of the slides. There is a raft ride called HooRoo Run for the whole family which sends you twisting down six stories through tunnels and emerging into daylight.

Cut Back Cove and Big Surf Shores are what Aquatica claims “giant side by side wave pools you won’t find anywhere else in the U.S.”. In total 860,000 gallons, in Cutback Cove rolling waves, in Big Surf Shores the waves can be high or low!

Aquatica has not forgotten the children - thank goodness because Wet n’ Wild is a bit too grown up for my children who are only 4 and 6 - Walkabout Waters is an area of the park made especially for them, including gentler slides and water cannons.

Whanau Way is the most popular ride in the park according to Aquatica (I would have thought the Dolphin Plunge ride would have been), where you can try out four different slides.

Pay close attention to this video and you will see someone rocket down the underwater slide to view the amazing black and white dolphins under water - really cool - can’t wait for my go!!!
